Three Mindset Shifts You Need to Build a Business in 2025

Here’s the truth no one tells you: running a business is not just about having a good idea, a solid skillset, or even a strong strategy. It’s about your mindset—how you handle setbacks, how you show up for your community, and how much trust you have in the process.

I’ve seen so many people start out strong and then completely shut down when things didn’t go as planned. And I get it. It’s hard to keep going when it feels like no one is paying attention, when you’re doubting yourself, or when you put something out into the world and it doesn’t land the way you hoped.

But if you want to build something real in 2025—something that actually lasts—you need these three mindset shifts:

1️⃣ Resilience Over Perfection

Perfectionism is just fear in disguise. It convinces you to wait until everything is “just right” before you launch, before you promote, before you fully step into your business. But here’s the thing: you can’t get better at something you never start.

Let’s say you put together a workshop, you’re excited, you post about it, and then… no one signs up. The old version of you might take that as proof that this was a bad idea, that you’re not cut out for this, that maybe you should just stick to what feels safe. But the truth?

This is just data.

Instead of making it personal, what if you got curious?

  • Did your audience even know it was happening?

  • Was the timing off?

  • Did the way you marketed it resonate?

  • Do people actually want this in a different format?

The businesses that grow are the ones that keep testing, adjusting, and showing up—not the ones that get it perfect on the first try. If you want success, you have to be willing to take the hit, learn from it, and keep going.

2️⃣ A Willingness to Be Seen

This one? It’s huge. I see so many people hiding in the background, posting inconsistently, avoiding video, and overthinking every word they put out there. And I get it—being visible feels vulnerable as hell. You start thinking:

  • What if I say the wrong thing?

  • What if people don’t take me seriously?

  • What if I put myself out there and no one cares?

But here’s the reframe you need: this isn’t about you. This isn’t about you looking good, being polished, or performing. This is about helping people. This is about sharing something that could genuinely make someone’s life better.

When you shift from “What will people think of me?” to “How can I serve my community?”—everything changes.

You don’t have to be the most confident person in the room. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to show up and share. And yes, it will feel awkward at first. But confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s built through action.

3️⃣ Trust in the Long Game

We live in a world that loves instant results. Everyone wants the overnight success story, the viral moment, the “one big break” that changes everything. But businesses—real businesses—aren’t built that way. They’re built through consistent action, through relationships, through showing up over and over again even when it feels like no one is watching.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked with someone who thought no one was paying attention, only to have someone message them months later saying, “I’ve been following your work for a while, and I’m finally ready to work with you.” People need time. They need to trust you. They need to see that you’re going to keep showing up before they commit.

So if you feel like you’re putting in the work and not seeing the results yet—don’t stop. The seeds you’re planting now? They might not sprout immediately, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t growing.

Building a business is not for the faint of heart. It requires resilience, a willingness to be seen, and trust that your effort will pay off—even when you can’t see it yet.
