NICOLE BYARS
Speaker. Author. Founder.
We can’t change what we aren’t willing to see.
I believe real change starts with radical honesty.
We all have patterns. We have stories we’ve told ourselves for years, ways we react without even realizing it, and things we know probably aren’t working but keep doing anyway.
Because once we can see something clearly, we have a choice about what we do next.
This is at the heart of my work, whether I’m speaking to a room, teaching yoga, leading a retreat, or working with leaders and teams.
What I Speak About
My talks are honest, relatable, and grounded in real life. I bring together personal stories, mindfulness, self leadership, and more than a decade of experience teaching people how to better understand themselves.
-
Radical Honesty: You Can’t Change What You Aren’t Willing to See: We all have patterns we repeat, stories we believe, and ways of protecting ourselves that probably made sense at one point. The problem is when we keep living from them without realizing it. This talk is about having the courage to look at yourself honestly, understand what’s driving you, and recognize that awareness gives you something incredibly powerful: a choice.
-
The State You Lead From Matters: How we show up affects the people around us. When we’re leading from fear, control, insecurity, or the need to prove ourselves, it doesn’t stay contained within us. It shows up in our teams, our families, our relationships, and the decisions we make. This talk looks at what changes when we start paying attention to what’s driving us before we try to lead anyone else.
-
What Are You Trying So Hard to Prove: Achievement can look really good from the outside. But sometimes underneath all that doing is a belief that slowing down means falling behind, losing control, or not being enough. This talk explores our relationship with achievement, why so many of us have a hard time slowing down, and what we might discover when we finally do.
A Little About Me
I’m Nicole Byars, an author, speaker, yoga educator, and the founder of Honest Yoga in Plymouth, Minnesota.
For more than a decade, I’ve worked with people around mindfulness, movement, self awareness, and personal growth. I created Honest Yoga around the belief that these practices should be about how we feel, not how we look. Our studio doesn’t even have mirrors.
I’m also the author of Living Yoga Beyond the Mat, and much of what I teach comes back to that same idea: the real practice is what happens when we take what we’ve learned about ourselves and bring it into our actual lives.
Bring Me In
I’m available for corporate events, conferences, leadership gatherings, women’s events, retreats, workshops, podcasts, and media conversations.
Looking for something specific? I’m also happy to create a talk or experience around the needs of your group.
